This cleaning solution was recommended to me by a professional photographer. I had already purchased the cleaning swabs but I wasn't sure about the proper cleaning solution. I am glad I purchased this solution. It cleaned the sensor well and I haven't seen any problems since the cleaning.
When I first purchased my camera, I had no idea what was going on with spots on my shots.
I went through many products to clean my lenses; and I also returned/exchanged every lens I had for my new SLR.
Since my camera was purchased new, in the box, direct from the manufacturer; how can it be possible that the CCD sensor could be dirty?
Apparently that was the case, though.
A couple of drops of this on a Pec*Pad, wrapped around a sensor swab, and most of my spots disappeared. With an extremely spotted sensor (thanks Canon), I only went through this motion 3 times to get my sensor clean, clear, and ready for action.
After each swab, check your sensor with an f-stop at 36 (or close to it), turn the lights down low, and with a long exposure against a white background. You'll see all the spots that you need to get rid of.

News as of April 2007. Do not use Eclipse on the 5D.
You MUST use Eclipse 2.
Be carefull.

well some times works other times it doesn't, I noticed it leaves film layer on the sensor, I dropped the eclipse and swabs all together, the swabs to go with eclipse are pretty darn expensive, there are other cheaper effective swabs in the market

Everyone who purchases a DLSR will come to the point when they have dust on their sensor that just won?t blow off. When this time comes you are going to have to wet clean your sensor. If you haven?t done it before more than likely you are going to be scared to death that you are going to destroy you sensor ? and you are probably going to question buying a DSLR. Let me just say that the fear over cleaning your sensor is highly overrated and it really isn?t that big of a deal. The main thing you need is this product, some pec-pads and a sensor swab. It also works great on lenses and my wife has started using in for her glasses (darn the luck!).
