SanDisk is my Compact Flash Memory card of choice. I never lose files, have a crash, or experience any problems. With the rebate program the price was unbeatable. I noticed a significant increase is write speed on my Canon 40D. I was able to shoot faster since the camera was not waiting as long to write. I would reccomend these!

I now own seven extremeIII cf cards and will only use extremeIII's in my cameras, so that should say it all. get them with the rebate and you can't argue with the price either. these didn't come with the neoprene storage things that my last batches came with though, and the plastic cases aren't quite as convenient either, but that doesn't effect the usefullness of these cards..

The CF cards are great! I got them as a 3-pack for [$] For this price, I'm very happy. I originally had the Sandisk Extreme 3 4GB CF card that read/wrote at slower than 30 MB/s. While I can't say that this one is faster because I run out of camera buffer before hitting the card limit, I have not had any issues with these cards yet.One thing to consider is possible DSLR purchases in the future: I've seen that all entry level and many prosumer DSLRs are moving to SD, which has pros and cons. I wouldn't buy too many CF cards if you would expect more DSLR purchases in the next year.

The SanDisk cards have always been excellent and the Extreme III are quite fast. I have used this type of card for years without any issues and look forward to many more years of use. In the past I have used 1 and 2 gig cards to distribute the risk a bit, though with cameras producing larger files it makes sense to utilize the larger cards, thus this purchase (though I still will utilize multiple cards vs one single larger).

I pretty much use only SanDisk in my Canon EOS DSLR cameras (10D and now 50D). I have a RiData card that works fine, but I just have more faith in SanDisk CF cards.

These cards are fast, and the 4GB is important if you shoot in RAW+JPG on a 50D.

I've never used a SanDisk card before, instead preferring to stick with Lexar Pro CF cards. However, this Christmas, Adorama ran a sale on these SanDisk 4 GB Extreme III Compact Flash Memory Card and it was such an incredible deal, I picked one up to use as a back up card. I have to say, I've been quite pleased with it. Since everyone already knows how to do math, I'll spare you the read/write speed of the card vs. the read/write capability of your personal camera, and let you do your own figuring as to it's performance. What I will vouch for is it's instant recognition in my camera and in my card reader - using both XP and Vista platforms. And I can, unfortunately, also vouch for it's durability, as the day I got it I accidentally sent it flying down a flight of stairs and it lived to tell the tale. I am also using it in the freezing cold of NY's winter and am yet to experience any problems with it.

This is definitely an overkill for just storage, but I got this for my Canon 40D and it has yet to slow down my camera in shooting bursts. I've shot a few sequences at full 6.5fps and it's been great. If you need the speed, this card is worth it, otherwise just go get some cheapo card.

Sure this isn't UDMA or anything "superfast" but nobody honestly needs that unless you're downloading hundreds of gigabytes at a time and your time is precious.

This can write faster than my camera's buffer so buying anything faster is a waste of money.

These were on sale and the manufacturer was offering a rebate of the same amount so I got three of these cards for free. I know they aren't as fast as the Extreme IV or other cards, but for my needs they are great. I don't shoot in RAW, and in jpeg my DLSR will fire continuous 5fps until the card is full, without so much as a hiccup.

The bottom line is that if you are willing to settle for one step below the absolute fastest cards, and patient enough to wait for the deals, CF cards can essentially be had for free. I just did the same thing with another brand 8GB 133X cards, buying two of them for only pennies.

I purchased the San Disk Extreme III CF card because it is faster than the Ultra II. The Ultra II is rated at 10MB/second. The Extreme III is rated at 30MB/second. When I purchased the Extreme III the price could not be beat. I use an Extreme III CF card in a Sony A100K and an Olympus E510. I had no difficulty using the CF Extreme III and Oly while taking pictures during a fashion show.

Prior to purchase of the Extreme III 4GB CF cards I had been using 2GB Extreme III CF cards.

The extra capacity of the 4GB card means I can shoot longer. I will now have to buy a spare battery.

I am a semi pro. I've gotten paid for my work a few times. this is a fantastic card for those with an 8 mega pixel cam. you will get about 420 shot in the RAW format. Scan Disk is the best. I would not buy any other brand.
