I installed the software, plugged it in, and started scanning. After playing with it for a while the software was a disappointment. It seems like it was geared much more towards the complete novice that doesn't know anything about computers or scanners. I much prefer the built in scanner software that came on my Mac. It allows me to manually control what and how I want to scan. The scanner itself is small, and decently quite. Scan speeds are quicker than the older scanners I've used. I really like the stand that allows vertical storage and use. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase.
