This camera is a Dream. I have used it to shoot Senior Portraits & Weddings with great success. This camera does what is supposed to do, make your job as a Photographer easier. This allows for me to be creative & not worry about settings. Set the camera once & let your creative juices flow. The focus is fast & dead on accurate. The 11 focus areas give you the focus where you need it. The colors are vibrant and flesh tones are very good. (Did a camera shootout for Pro level cameras at Shoot Smarter University & the D2X scored in the top five for flesh tones). The 12 megapixel allows for huge enlargements. I have made large prints that just looked WOW!! When used with on camera flash, the results are great. No washed out faces. In the studio it works great. From Portraiture to Macro it performs great. This is the best Camera I have ever had. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Nikon D2X is the most creatively based professional camera on the market. With the Color modes you can create stunning film like images that sing when combined with it's clean processing engine. The ability to create double exposures and overlays puts the fun and excitment at the moment of capture.

I was involved in an auto accident with airbags deployed. The D2x flew around the auto hitting everything in site. The body and lens had absolutely no marks. However, there was a rattle on the inside of the D2x. Sent to Nikon and they repaired and checked all functions. On return, the D2x and lens worked flawlessly. The color accuracy is fantastic. The resolution is phenomenal. The D2x has improved my photos significantly over my old D100. If you can find a new or used D2x, get it. The firmware upgrade from Nikon makes it practcally identical to the D2Xs.

I use the camera for portraits and travel photography. With the ablity to pre-set the camera for various set ups it is easy to go from one lighting or shooting situation quickly. The SB-800 flash system is great and makes flsah photography easy.

The best digital camera we have ever used. It has virtually "changed our lives" with its great features and high image quality.Although we have used the D-200 also and like that camera too, this one is the ultimate. We would like to buy a couple more of them (we are a busy studio)!

Low light use is not optimal, but not bad. This is really the only place where I could ask for improvement in this camera. I personally like the 1.5 crop as it maximizes telephotos for sports and uses the sweet spot of the lens for less vignetting.
I will undoubted buy another one

The focus speed in low light (reception of weddings)is amazing, I don't have to think about it, just shoot. Flash Sync with multiple flash is at times very critical. Also with the flash system, make a pre-flash so the camera knows the exposure with flash then all the photos you take are exposed with no annoying additional preflash that causes people to blink. Battery has long life, I can go thru an entire 9 hour wedding and not change batteries
