This is an excellent printer. We have printed over 2500 photos on it for our photography shows and have not had a problem. We are going to buy the exact same printer so we can double our production. Nothing comes close to this printer.

Overall, this product is amazing! The colors are always balanced and never change. The printer never leaves lines through the photograph in which my old HP printer did. The ink life for one of the cartridges is pretty good, not amazing. This printer is great for a beginning photographer or even a seasoned photographer with a minimal-medium work load! A++

For over a year, the i9900 has amazed me with its consistent superb quality and wonderful speed. With hundreds of 13x19 fine art photos I've never seen ANY banding, and the 8-color system is virtually indistinguishable from lab photos. These A3+ prints come out in HALF the time my old HP needed for an 8x10. I use draft mode for text and correspondence, and it looks good enough for final output (unless you're including photos -- there IS banding, as expected, in draft mode, but none in Normal or Best). Unlike many Epsons, there are no hoses or tubes for the ink -- cartridges snap into an idiot-proof tray, and the tray itself is the massive print-head. The no-hoses design means that if you go for weeks without printing, there's no hose-cleaning problem with dried ink. For my work, that's essential, as I'm out shooting for weeks at a time while the printer just sits. If you ever had to replace the print-head itself, it simply lifts out. Couldn't be simpler. Paper path is not quite straight-thru (it takes a 45 degree bend) so the i9900 can't handle card stock, but it (and Canon's inks) are very forgiving of non-Canon papers. I do most art prints on Epson Enhanced Matte, but the occasional 13x19 Canon super glossy is great for zapping clients. For medium-volume use, this printer is amazingly close to perfect.
