I'm professional sculptor & painter with photographic skills and document my own art work. It's important for me to have "archival" stable storage for huge collection of color slides. I've done extensive research into digital storage but because of constant changes in technology, I don't I feel I can really rely on digital for long term storage,80-100yrs+.
Cons: You can't store the master boxes on most existing home/office shelving...just too big. Metal industrial shelving kept in cool dry storage works best for this type of slide storage.

Box is cardboard but well made with reinforced corners. Very compact storage and we will likely purchase another.

I should have considered the box's dimensions more carefully before ordering. It is too large to fit on a bookshelf. But I do like its having boxes inside the box, which makes sorting and storing larger number of slides very convenient, so I've kept it.

I'm using these to store old, now digitized, slides. I keep 300 slides in each container but it could old many more. Each container comes with a set of white cards that I use to separate groups of slides (25, 50, 75) from reel sets of 100. Each container also has one folded divider that locks into the interior part of the container that is excellent as an end stop. This is a great storage system and I'd give it five stars if it came with sets of these folded dividers rather than the cards.

I've got over 6000 slides in carousels and they take up a lot of storage space. I wanted to archive the slides and was able to do that in a fraction of the space. These are cardboard boxes,but they appear very substantial. They only minor feature is that the indexing separators are a little cheesy,

These boxes helped me organize and store all my slides. Very convenient access.

Only minor inconvenience is that the master box can be difficult to open.

Wasn't sure how the papers inside were to be used.
However, I used them to separate slides by year and/or by event.

I used to keep all my slides in rotary trays and they just took up to much space.

I have thousands of slides and I now use only these boxes to store and categorize. Space saving, stackable and total size of storage is great.

Only time will tell how this archival box will hold up over time. I had slides that I digitized that dated back to 1948, were kept in slide carousels & were in relaively good condition even hough they were stored in a (dry) basement. Does save a lot of space over the carousels though.

If you have a thouand or more slides to store, then this is the system.

I store all of my archive slides in a way to protect them and make any single slide easily available.

I have 3 of these storage boxes and can easily move the trays from one to another to transport those slides I'm currently working on. They have survived several rough road trips while keeping the slides in pristine condition.

I have thousands of slides and have used many methods to store them. This storage is the most usable for its portability and safety. Very strong construction, I know as I've already dropped one and no damage was done, to the box or the slides.

Very efficient mass storage. Easily used and allows user defined organizational structures. Should have a dust cover (such as cellophane) for maximum protection.
