Used mostly for travel photos. This is a replacement for one I ruined when I fell off a boulder at the base of a lighthouse in Nova Scotia. I wouldn't buy any other, regardless of price.

I bought this lens to enhance my outdoor photos when glare and reflections are a problem. I use it on a D80 with a 18-200mm lens. Optically it's a fine piece of gear and works just as intended. I do have occasional problems as, when adjusting the polarity while looking through the view finder, I actually unscrew the filter. If the filter is tightened sufficiently to prevent this, removal can be very difficult. It would be nice if the polarizer could be adjusted by using the lens hood but, as it is the filter and the lens hood are incompatable, this is not possible. Optically I would recommend the filter while ergonomically I would not.

Lens has fewer than two threads. It will , and does come off very easily.dropped it twice. It was strong however, it neither broke nor scratched.

This filter is very well made and includes a very thin mount with threads that allow stacking or installing a lens cap. No vignette at 18mm unless stacking with a graduated ND.
I highly recommend this to get better exposure of the sky in outdoor photography and for improving color.
