I am a newbie so I dont have a lot to compare it to. I use this on a Pentax 12-24 , its well built, gives nice color to skies ect, and does not vignette even at the widest part of the lens and its a bit less expensive than some of the other namebrands. I like it
Comments about Sigma Sigma 77mm EX DG, Digitally Optimised, Circular Polarizer Wide Angle Multi-Coated Glass Filter.:
I use this on my Sigma 10-20mm lense. Figured if I have faith in Sigma lense quality, then why not use a Sigma filter. The ring is thin but rotates smoothly & is ribbed on the outside for ease of rotating. YES!-It has front threads for a lense cap. Buy it--you can't get a better one. I have read specs.on this filter that states the Sigma Wide Filters do not have front threads. I took the chance on one review that said it did.

Comments about Sigma Sigma 77mm EX DG, Digitally Optimised, Circular Polarizer Wide Angle Multi-Coated Glass Filter.:
I bought this filter to use primarily on my 10-24 utlrawide. I have used Sigma DG filters exclusively since I went to digital photograpy and never been disappointed.
A couple of weeks ago my wife and I took a day trip to the beach for some winter photography of migrating birds. I noticed my skies where dramatically bluer with the Polarizer than my wife's with just a UV.
Comments about Sigma Sigma 77mm EX DG, Digitally Optimised, Circular Polarizer Wide Angle Multi-Coated Glass Filter.:
Clear optics, non-existent to the lens, and that's what you want in a lens protector. Insurance for your lens is what these are. Expensive for what it does, but worth it to never have to see your costly "L" lens scratched.

Comments about Sigma Sigma 77mm EX DG, Digitally Optimised, Circular Polarizer Wide Angle Multi-Coated Glass Filter.:
Unlike most slim/wide-angle filters, this Sigma includes a front thread, which means you don't need a special push-on lens cap; the one included with your lens will work just fine. That's a major boost in convenience.
It also means you can stack additional filters, though beware of vignetting.

A very thin polarizer that works well and does not vignette. The only negative is that it came with a big finger print in the middle of the outer glass.

I bought this to go with my Sigma 10-20 UWA and Canon 17-40L. It does a fabulous job on both. Its thin-ring design means no vignetting on ultra-wide angle lenses. It stays on my 10-20 (until I put my 17-40L on!).
