I needed immediate economical lens protection and preferred using a polarizing filter to a regular UV filter -- this filter satisfied both requirements.

This was not a bad filter for the money. My only problem was when I put it on my camera to use it and then started to take pictures, as I rotated the polarizer it would tighten up on my UV filter because the polarizer was hard to rotate. This would make it extremely hard to get the two of them seperated. When you wanted to just remove the the polarizer, you were guaranteed that UV filter was also coming off with it whether you wanted it to or not. I just decided to keep the filter rather than going to the trouble to send it back.

A must have for any photographer! Greatly improves images. Reduces or eliminates reflections, glare. Blue skies are much better. Deep, rich colors.

Does what it's supposed to do. Seems like good quality. My only complaint is that you can really only rotate the filter clockwise. There's a lot of friction between the outer polarizer ring and the filter mount. If you try to rotate the ring counter clockwise, you end up unscrewing the filter. So I always rotate it clockwise.

Bought this to use with my 18-200VR lens on my D80, and was very happy with the results. The lens/filter were also used on a D200 and some light vignetting was detected, which is odd since the sensor is supposed to be the same.

Adjusting this filter in outdoor shots resulted in some gorgeous shots, turning the sky from plain to vibrant, and foliage really pops.

Tiffen is a trusted name in filters. this one is no different. Other than the fact that I see a hint of blue in my images, I just go in and batch color correct.

Filter mounts easily and rotates to get the desired effect. A little difficult to remove the filter due to the front of it rotating. It did exactly want I wanted it to do. It brought out the colors of the Caribbean Ocean and made the sky a brilliant blue.

I used the Tiffen 72mm Circular Polarizer on my Canon 28-135mm lens during a recent trip to New York and got very impressive results. This is my first experience with a polarizer so i am not in a position to compare this with anything else in the market but definitively worth the money you pay.

I bought the Tiffen Circular Polarizer because the name is well known and it got great reviews. Shortly after receiving it however I was very disappointed. Although it mounts to the lens firmly, the adjustment ring is very loose and shifts around when making lens adjustments. For the price I expected better quality. On my 18-200 VR lens this filter shows A LOT of vignetting at the edges of the frame. I'm not sure why, but without the filter everything looks fine, with it there's ugly dark shadowing at all four corners. Unfortunately because of my current location I'm forced to continue using this filter, but given the opportunity I would send it back.
