This is the least expensive filter that will not add flare and ghosts to your pictures. The Tiffen filter is cheaper and isn't supposed to shatter when broken but I couldn't stand the green blobs that would show up opposite the light bulbs in my shots.

I like it!

I use it to protect my lenses. It does the job and I don't event think about it. I have noticed no effects at all in my photos. I would buy it for all my lenses.

I have used this filter from day one for protection on my Nikon 18-55mm VR lens and I have been very happy with this product. I have still not seen any harmful effects of this filter on the image quality till date. Made in Japan really assuring.

Bought two of these for Nikon AF-S 18-55mm and 55-200mm lenses which came with a D40 kit I recently purchased. I always use a neutral filter to protect the lens, and have been using UV filters for his purpose for about 10 years. These filters fit perfectly and have not degraded the image quality in any way.
