Comments about Hoya Hoya 52mm DMC PRO1 Digital Multi-Coated UV (Ultra Violet) Filter.:

I purchased my camera with a Tiffen non-coated filter. It protects the lens, but the flaring ruined pictures.

This Hoya filter was recommended and it works wonderfully. I have yet to get any flaring, even when trying. THIS IS A MUST HAVE!

Comments about Hoya Hoya 52mm DMC PRO1 Digital Multi-Coated UV (Ultra Violet) Filter.:

Haven't had a chance to test this in side by side comparisons, so not sure if the extra money was worth it.

Good quality filter, however, and definitely worth having to protect expensive lenses.

Comments about Hoya Hoya 52mm DMC PRO1 Digital Multi-Coated UV (Ultra Violet) Filter.:

The outside of the filter has grooves so it's easy to twist it off. The front threads are few, as advertised, so the lens cap attaches kinda loosely. The massive and excellent coatings mean that even the tiniest speck of dust will show up. Cleaning it is quite the hassle - again because of the coatings. Just don't ever leave fingerprints on it!
