I dropped my D7000 with a Nikon 10-24mm lens. It landed right on the corner of the lens. It was scary but the filter took all of the damage. I was surprised it saved the lens even with the thin design. Buying another one!

I use these filters on my Nikon 24-70mm and 70-200mm lenses mostly for protection and also as a UV filter. Good quality, thin mount and no negative effect to image quality.

This is such a great filter. It has been on my Canon 24-105 mm L lens since day one and it gives great protection without adding any unwanted aberations. A tad pricey, but worth every penny.

Upgraded from a competators uv "profeshional" filters on my canon 17-55mm & 70-200mm f/2.8L lenses. NOW,it's nice to be able to use these lenses without constantly reattaching the lens caps ###***.The qualit was therefore immediately apparent. You get what you pay for !Also a very snug lens cap fit when both the uv & cp filters are on together. The glass looks top shelf & the results are outstanding . A winner.

Comments about Hoya Hoya 77mm DMC PRO1 Digital Multi-Coated UV (Ultra Violet) Filter.:
Used on my Tokina 11-16 with a D300. It does not interfere with the lens hood nor the lens cap. For comparison, the mounted filter is thinner than the lens cap. Even when shooting at 11 mm I can't see any artifacts caused by the filter. I shoot mostly outdoors above 9000 feet, and without a UV filter the sky can appear washed out which is tough to post process when there are clouds. This filter really brings back the blue that I see when composing the image.

I use it on my Canon EF 24-70mm L. I keep it on all the times and I have noticed no significant reduction in picture quality!
I have also own Hoya Digital Pro1, my first impression is that this one is made with higher quality.

Comments about Hoya Hoya 77mm DMC PRO1 Digital Multi-Coated UV (Ultra Violet) Filter.:
I have had B+W UV filters mounted on my other Canon L lenses. For my recent lens purchases I decided to try out Hoya products, having read positive reviews and comparing prices between Hoya and B+W. From what I have gathered, B+W multicoated filters pricing has taken a stratopheric jump over the past 2 years. I am not a pro by any standard but photography has been my obsession for the past 25 years. Thus I care deeply about producing quality images out of my Canon L lenses. So far I have not detect any visual difference between those taken with B+W or Hoya filters mounted on the lenses. For the price and performance, I do not think you can go wrong.
Comments about Hoya Hoya 77mm DMC PRO1 Digital Multi-Coated UV (Ultra Violet) Filter.:
I have six lenses of the same filter size and and have one on each lens. The only reason I take one off is to use a polarizer. They have defended the front element of a couple of lenses from moisture and small particles and have been reasonably easy to clean. No ghosting.

Comments about Hoya Hoya 77mm DMC PRO1 Digital Multi-Coated UV (Ultra Violet) Filter.:
I purchased this filter for a Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM Zoom Lens. I wanted a filter that would not deter from the lens optics in any way (vignetting, flaring, ghosting and etc.). The Hoya PRO UV filter fits the requirement perfectly.

The treatment on the lens is easily compromised using standard lens cleaning spray. Use only microfiber on this lens.
