Comments about Hoya Hoya 82mm DMC PRO1 Clear Protector Digital Filter:

I've been using this filter on my 16-35mm II canon lens to photograph tons of professional interior architecture where I am consistently getting poor results with this filter attached. Because of the assignment that I being required to shoot I am having to shoot into rooms with bright lights on the ceilings and in the backgrounds where I am getting all kinds of added halos, rainbow colors, and added glare. I take the filter off and it's much better controlled by the lens. I guess I should have sprung for the higher dollar B&W true multi coated filters. My two filters I bought 82mm and 72mm said in their description that they had a multi coatings on them where they have the designation "MC" on the side but obviously not enough or not the right type. Highly disappointed!!!

Comments about Hoya Hoya 82mm DMC PRO1 Clear Protector Digital Filter:

Usually when I order something online where I don't get to hold it and inspect it before buying it, it usually turns out to be a disappointment once it arrives in the mail but not this one. I was very happy once I pulled it from it's package and saw the quality. Just touching it made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Top notch build like the slim design (16mm wide full frame) which will still hold a lens cap, the finish which they call the black almite frame, awesome, and the MC coating which can clearly be seen when held next to a non-multi coated filter. I bought two, one for my 70-200mm and my 16-35mm II and it cost me [$] total. Originally I was looking at the B&W UV-multi coated thin mount filter and one regular UV-MC filter for general lens protection but I would have spent 296 dollars to do it. That’s a lot of money for general purpose filters and I'm not wealthy. The glass looks to be exceptionally clear where It's almost like its not there. Highly recommend. I will still end up going with the B+W 82mm MRC Slim Circular Polarizer Filter in the future as Hoya HMC coating is hard to clean so there you go.
