bought this to protect my investment. like you've heard before, why pay for the great optics of a nikon lens only to put a junk filter on it? you get what you pay for. GREAT GREAT GREAT!

The only optically "...invisible..." lens protector I've found yet; with a fortune in NIKON lenses, spend a coupla bucks on the best clear lens cover, and it's coated to boot

I always put these type of filters on my Nikon lenses. This one protects my 80-400 lens. While the Nikon filters cost more than other brands I've always felt it is worth it (why spend the money to buy a great Nikon lens and put a cheap filter on it).
