A weak ago, the tiffen filter shattered as my camera dropped on a tile floor.But to my relief my $500+ Tamron 18-270 was spared with no apparent damage. The filter had done its job!

I purchased this product for use with a Canon lens/DSLR to be a protective cover for the lens. This lens will create unwanted reflections/ghosting of any light source that is in the frame. This will include any street lights/signs for a night shot, as well as sunlight windows in a daytime interior shot. Basically, this lens cannot be used if there is any kind of light source in frame.

I always get a tiffen UV filter to go on my lenses. Better a cracked filter than a cracked lens I always say.

I purchased the UV filter primarily to protect my new lens and that's just what it did. I was in a hurry at a wedding recently and inadvertently banged my lens on a corner of a wall. The filter took the damage. The UV filter wasn't damaged too badly and the lens was saved completely. Thanks.

I have UV-Filter or Polarizers on all my lenses all the time for protection. I also use Hoya's and B&W's but I cannot tell a difference in Image Quality between any of them. The only big difference is in the savings you get by buying Tiffen-filters!

Very good UV filter, but doesn't fit the Canon lens cover all that well. I've even considered pulling the filter off the (Canon 180/3.5L Macro) lens whenever the lens is not in use. The lenscap seems to just try and pop off too often.

Maybe I got a bad copy of the filter, as I really like the Tiffen brand, but I'm not as satisfied with this one as I have been on all my other Tiffen purchases in the past.

This filter would be just fine if I didn't want to use a lens cap over it. There are no internal threads for the cap to grip. And forget about stacking another filter over it (not a good idea anyway).

This product is just what I expected. It came in a plastic box. Very well protected. When opened the lens filter was clean, no fingerprints. No problems. Just fine.

Works well for lense protection, doesn't degrade the pictures. Fits well and seats well on lense. Doesn't impact lense cover fit.

I wasn't to happy when I received the filter. The glass was very loose in the housing. Other filters I have purchased were never like this.
