I had purchased this originally to use to photograph children in dance recital costumes and in that function it worked very well. The subtle array of colors in the fabric allowed it to compliment the style and color of all kinds of costumes. In that capacity , it has worked equally well for regular portraits. I was also pleasantly surprised with how light the the fabric was to move back and forth - but for a lightweight cloth, it photographs opaque and not sheer.
