I use this for family events, children's portraits, and animal photography in home settings. It is sturdy and easy to use though you must have a flash mount addition. It could use a bar attachment to center the flash over the lens though.

I was looking for a camera bracket that did not make me look like the man from mars. I checked tons of camera brackets on the web, but there was always one weak link, sometimes it was the price. What I needed was an economical swivel type camera bracket that I could use at weddings and special events. Some brackets I checked had arms so short, that if I used the battery-grip on my camera the Flash would barely rise above the camera. Others had complicated bulky swivel mechanisms, and others held the flash very awkwardly above the camera when in the vertical position. Now this bracket is not perfect. I wish it allowed you to place the flash directly over the lens, but I think with a miniature ball head(like someone else mentioned) attached to it, I can compensate for that. I only had it about a week, but it seems pretty sturdy and well built. It is very simple to use and extremely light. Good thing, because my camera and lenses can get heavy.

Bought this primarily to use for shooting events to get the flash off-axis, but realized quickly that because the boom can be turned/rotated around all 3 axis this is going to be handy with closeup/macro work as well.

I have looked at a lot of flash brackets over the last six months or so....tried several that were twice the price...they were not as stable and didn't offer anything this bracket doesn't for a bargain price. Lots of flexibility with this bracket....I am truly convinced after trying close to ten different brackets....THIS IS THE BEST DEAL ON THE CURRENT MARKET ! You can't go wrong with this one ! Great bracket for off the camera flash. Strong construction. A little cumbersome mounting the camera to the bracket but other than that I like the bracket. Have been getting great flash photo results.

This Bogen-Manfotto 233B Camera Flash Bracket folds up to be less than a foot long, and 3.5 inches wide. This bracket will hold up to 2.3 lbs, and telescoping arm to hold the flash anywhere between about 11" to 18". The flash male mounting thread, and tripod female mounting thread are both reversible 1/4" to 3/8", and the camera female thread is 1/4", and comes with a 3/8" step-up female thread.
This item is a well design, and very compatable piece of professional equipment.
