A decent package for the money. Once you white balance the camera, the light quality is beautiful.
Not especially powerful (like strobes) but works well for portraits and copying art. Only weakness is that you can't rotate the box from vertical to horizontal without removing the head from the stand and reattaching it. Nevertheless, the light quality is beautiful and takes me back to the days of "sculpting with light."

Love these lights! I used only one for great shadowing effects! These lights worked out so well! My photos came out fantastic! I was really surprised how great the lighting was! Seriously, buy these lights! Don't buy any others! It's easy to set up, but there are no directions, so be prepared for a puzzle, but it's the most perfect equipment I've used!
My set up with the lights!

I'm normally a freelance Fine Art nature/Landscape photographer, however been picking up commercial jobs lately for customer websites-real estate photography etc. I've always exclusively used natural available light.
I started a job photographing an Inn/B&B locally in a touristy area, which provided me with the challenge of capturing beautiful interior shots. The Inn is dependant on drawing customers to survive so I needed to deliver quality.
I researched products before purchasing, read through forums on "pro's and con's of Flash vs, Constant lighting and felt the flourescent softboxes would provide what I needed. I made a good choice! My cousin, professional fashion and portrait photographer told me "Its not how much you spend on the lighting but how you use it" "No need to spend a bundle of cash".
The daylight balanced 75W flourescents provided enough light. No weird color cast. The stands provided in the kit were versatile, and easy to adjust. I did add a diffuser for my "fill flash" and when I could bounced the flash.
I plan to add another budget kit to my equipment in the near future. It wont overpower the sun for a commercial modeling photoshoot on location, but for the studio or additional fill lighting you just cant go wrong.

Very light weight and durable. Not good for outdoor windy conditions, but great for every other situation.

Comments about Adorama Adorama Two Light Softbox kit with Fluorescent Bulbs, Stands and Carrying Case:
pros: Bright, compact. I use it for making product images, but it even can be used for "head and shoulders" studio portrets.
cons:
- light is not superuniform (its darker in corners)
