the dimmer slider is "light" and does not "stick" where you set it if you kick it ... but other than than, this is a GREAT way to control light power and add HOURS to the lifetime of photofloods.

It is good for the money. It just feels very cheap. It does give you a wide range of dimming adjustments. It does not attach to the light which could be a good thing because that gives you an extra 2 feet or so terms of extension for the light.

Because these lights run so hot, I like the idea of ramping them up slowly until they're full strength. I've read that this technique will reduce the chances of having them shatter. They've done the trick for my photo shoots.
