I was thinking this product had an acrylic cover, not so, it is made of glass. The reason I ordered it was partly for the diffusion but also I liked the idea of having something that protected the flash bulb. This does in a way, however, it's made of glass and now I feel like I have to protect it.

 
I would buy this product again.
