I prefer to rotate the camera counterclockwise and keep my hand on top when using the portrait position. This bracket has the post on the left, so you have plenty of room for your right hand. This is one of the few brackets on the market that allow you to do this without having to turn yourself almost upside down. ( this is the most affordable ). It is well built, the base for the camera is solid. I can't believe there aren't more of this design. It could use a little more padding on the grip, but I modified it to suit me so this wasn't a big deal. For the price, you can't go wrong. I love it !
