When the party moves inside I slip on my Lightscoop. Indoor photography has always been a drag because of my camera's pop up flash. It makes my DSLR images no better than my point and shoot. Bad Flash is bad flash no matter how expensive the camera. The Lightscoop is perfect inside -- it uses the white ceiling to create FLATTERING light from my camera's built in pop-up flash unit. I have always hated the red eye and the shiny faces but this thing also fixes the harsh shadows and generally brightens the whole scene. EASY to use. Cheap GOOD fix to really ugly pop-up flash photography. Check out my Halloween pics. It's subtle but notice how the light is coming from above instead of shining in their faces like a scary flash light. Yuck!

I was very excited when Lightscoop.com announced that their product was compatible with the Olympus Evolt Line of DSLRs. I was quick to purchase the combo kit and could not wait to try it. I am very unpleased with this product. Images were darker and looked worse than with the harsh light from the pop up flash, even with all settings exactly like they recommend. I guess that my fault for taking a shortcut instead of getting a real flash unit.

I bought a pair, one with a regular mirror and one with the gold mirror. Most of the time I use the standard version, but I love the portraits I've taken with the gold mirror. This was a much cheaper solution than buying a flash unit. Plus, I'm still learning to use the camera, and learning to use a flash AND spending yet more money was overwhelming. I'm so glad I found this gadget.
