Comments about Adorama Adorama Off-Camera eTTL2 Coiled Flash Cord (3-Ft Max) for All Canon EOS Cameras (Except RT & 630):
Put it on with Canon Rebel 350 and XTI, and the flash fired. But ETTL function does not work. Per reviewer JIMography, the connector does not match with flash head. Dremmel out the plastic end hoping to slide the flash head in further, but it does not work because the flash connector has a lip at the end that prevented it from sliding in further. Grind down the metal part where the flash slides in and this allows the flash head to slide forward further. Then ETTL works. Like JIMography reviewer said, it should have work right off the back. Would not recommend.

I just picked up one of these for my Olympus e-500 (yes, it does TTL for Olys, too). The little lever on the front now has a plastic knob bonded to it; it's not pointy and it's easy to use. Construction appears good, though I just got it.
The only negative thing I can say is that I wouldn't feel comfortable extending the cord to its full 3 feet. Of course, my arm is shorter than 3 feet, and it's fine up to my full reach.

This cord does not support TTL functions on the Canon Rebel XTi as advertised. Even after 'wiggling' as suggested to make it fit, auto zoom does not work, power gets to the flash to make it flash, but none of the TTL exposure functions work as they should. I would not recommend this cable at all. I will pay the extra bucks for the Canon cable.

Get the dang flash off the camera. It's 3 feet! I'm having a ball with this thing and the Canon 580 EX II flash and my Canon D20. With my remote switch I can play with shadows all day long in still life and portrait. Adorama makes some great products and this is one of them.

When I first hooked up the device, TTL communication did not work.
After closer inspection, I realized that the flash head(580 EX) was not able to slide far enough into the extension's hot shoe to make proper contacts. This was fixed with a Dremel by grinding out the areas on the hot-shoe mount which prevented proper insertion of the flash head. Once done, the extension works perfectly.
I do not recommend this product. I believe it should have been designed to work right out of the box as advertised with no need for modification. It is obvious that the product was not designed for the Canon 580 EX flash head.

I was questioning this product when I bought it because the reviews said it was hard to remove. I have not experienced any trouble removing it and it has been used several times. Much better than the plastic brand name one.

This cord has a very sharp metal lock lever that will cut your finger when removing it from the camera mount. The lever doesnt really do much and the prong did damage to my camera. It is incredibly difficult to attach and remove and I could not get it to work in Ettl mode even though it is advertised.

This is a great alternative to the Canon cord that always breaks. It seems to be much sturdier (metal flash bracket) and works well. It also give you an extra foot of reach. The release pin could be better but it works fine. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an off-shoe flash cord.

Better build than Canon house-brand off shoe cord, and stretches to a foot longer also. Appears sturdier with metal base instead of plastic. [$]

Ordered paired with the Stroboframe Quick Flip 350, worked perfectly with my e-ttl2 flash.

Sometimes if not securely fastened in place, the ETTL function is not usable...wiggle till set into place well.

I found the Adorama Off-Camera flash cord for Canon EOS well made, but it is extremely difficult to put on to the hot shoe and extremely hard to remove. On the top of the hot shoe connector, there is this metal lever which I assume is meant to be used to help remove the flash cord from the hot shoe; it isn't very useful and I fear that one day I will stab my finger with it. Although the Canon flash cord is more expensive, I think it might slide on and off the hot shoe easier than the Adorama flash cord.

The product is well made and a good price but removing the unit from the hot shoe is a challenge. Maybe it will get easier the more it is used. I need to reserve judgement as I haven't used it enough.

Moving the flash off of the camera is essential to achieving good lighting for portraits. When I began to look at the Canon flash cord I saw multiple negative reviews concerning the quality of the Canon cord. The [...] cord is a full foot longer and [$] cheaper than the Canon. I am pleased with the build quality.
