I got this cord for my Nikon P5100 pointNshoot camera, but I find myself using it more and more with my SLRs when I don't want to go through the bother of wireless setups and only need one strobe. It works TTL with all my cameras and I am quite happy with it.

I upgraded to Nikon digital cameras and use SB-800 and SB-600 flash units off camera. I found that all contacts must connect or exposure does come out right. The SC-28 has a locking pin that the old SC-17 dose not have. I replaced all my older cords.

I would recommend it to a friend because you really need off camera TTL capabilities, but I'm on my 2nd cord in three years and need to order yet another one due to the cord's electrical short problems. Not a good sitution to be in when on a job and your equipment fails.
Exactly what I was looking for.

It's built well, it stretches quite a ways, it does what it's supposed to. The only thing it needs is a metal foot on the flash end to go with the screw mount. This would allow for a little more flexibility in attaching the flash end to flash brackets or other supports.

I really like the new locking mechanism. Having the cord from the camera shoe sidways is also a good thing. The only thing about the new camera shoe mount is the connections are more difficult to re-solder if you elect to shorten your own cord. I
