Comments about Jackrabbit Jackrabbit II High Voltage Battery Pack with Charger:

I have used two of these for about ten years and they hold up great. Every year or so I have the battery cells replaced for about $35. I get about 400 flashes with a one second recycle with a Nikon Flash. You need to have the exact cord for your flash or you will end up needing repairs. The battery is heavy but very rely able. I use this battery on nearly every shoot, 200 times a year. I would highly recomend. I like this battery much better than my Quantum Turbo.

Comments about Jackrabbit Jackrabbit II High Voltage Battery Pack with Charger:

The jackrabbit is ok for a battery pack but very delicate and expensive to fix.Just how expensive?Well, in the last year I owned mine - it went back to the factory for major repairs 4 times. Each time costing at least $100. Almost all of the internal components were replaced at least once. The last time it failed (in the middle of an event!), sparking and arcing noises came out of the unit and then it started smoking, leaving the smell of fried electronics. When I sent it back to Dyna-lite (for the 5th time in about 14 months), they informed me that while it should do that, they still had to charge me for parts - [$]! If this was the first time it had to go back, fine but honestly my battery pack had been to NJ so often it could vote in that state! Needless to say, I was speechless when the technician (John) explained that there was nothing they would do and either I pay the [$] or the unit doesn't get fixed. As a working professional, I would have to rent a Quantum Turbo battery pack to shoot my scheduled gigs while my Jackrabbit pack was being repaired. To be honest, after all that I gave up on Dyna-Lite as a company and never went back to get my dead Jackrabbit and will be selling my Uni400 (which has been repaired with blown components 3 times in the last 2 years).

If you ever wondered what the fast paced news/popparazzi shooters are using to quickly recycle their portable strobe, then baby you've arrived at the right placed. The JackRabbit outperforms the heavier and much larger unit by a long shot. Moreover, these unit are hard to kill if properly cared for. Hey, it's the holidays treat yourself to a no-brainer, buy the Dyna-Lite JackRabbit II Battery Pack and shot those rapidly occurring events with missing a beat.

Comments about Jackrabbit Jackrabbit II High Voltage Battery Pack with Charger:

This Dyna-Lite product is best suited for powering small on-camera flash units. Not the Uni 400 jr. that is packaged with this battery. The battery does not have any fail-safe mechanism to keep it from overheating and it's just not powerful enough for the Uni 400 Jr. flash head. I have 5 or 6 of these batteries and everyone of them has fried on a shoot at one time or another. We had one explode on a shoot yesterday (11/6/08) complete with a firecracker sound and smoke. Dyna-Lite doesn't offer up any solutions or fixes.[$] I can't recommend this product unless you are fond of high drama on photo shoots.

Comments about Jackrabbit Jackrabbit II High Voltage Battery Pack with Charger:

This thing has amazing recycle times with shoe mounts, even with handle mounts much faster than Q Turbo. Unfortunately, the first generation JR battery always burns itself out (literally), I hope this one is better.
