Hotshoe attachment for flash is poor. Securing flash is nearly impossible and it comes mounted backwards.
This is a great stand when you're on the move. I can fit a couple of these in my standard backpack (Jansport) along w/the swivel adapters and double-fold umbrellas for the ultimate portable "studio". This works great with umbrellas or bare flash but it might be a little weak for large softboxes. If you're looking for a compact, reliable light stand, this is the one.
I have a couple of these stands on the recommendations of many strobists. They are extremely well made and the legs fold back over the centre column which allows it to fit into a sports bag. It has quite a short length when folded.
[...] as an initial setup for simple lighting, and it works like a champ.
Great solid light stand. Folds down to compact size which makes it easy to transport. Bought second one because I like the first so well. Very adaptable. Great for stobist work.
very compact... and light weight... love it!
I use this to hold m E-TTL flash / umbrella combo.
Easy to bring around locations, folds easy and lenght is both good extended to full lenght or folded down. Light weight and clamps are strong.
Not the best / strongest lightstand, the legs can bent easily if you put enough weight on it but it's a lightstand NOT a tripod. Other than that, i'll bring this lightstand everywhere i go.

I love this lightstand.
I am using two Canon speedlights (one on the camera and the other one on this light stand) and its working great.
This is an ideal light stand for use with light strobes (such as hot shoe strobes).
The only downside is that the stand is only 6 ft tall but that is the price you pay for such compactness. With even a light breeze and an umbrella you will want some extra weight to stabilize the stand.
