Comments about Metz Metz 48 AF-1 Shoe Mount Flash for Nikon i-TTL Compact Digital Cameras - Deluxe Outfit - with 4 NiMH Batteries, Charger, Flashpoint Flash Diffuser, Flashpoint Quick Flip Flash Bracket, & Off-Camera iTTL 3' Coiled Cord:

This flash unit preforms well with good recycle times and output. I bought the kit to save a few $ on the accessories needed to make a complete package. The lock on the cable does not lock the unit on the shoe so it can easily get loose and loses connection. The bracket is almost useless. The tightening screw on the base to attach to the camera had a plastic cap to tighten that broke off the second time I attached the bracket to the camera. Now I have to use pliers to tighten it to the camera. The top part of the arm is not tight and when you turn the camera for portrait shot the flashhead falls down. You can only tighten with a wrench or special screw driver. It should have a separate tightening screw so you can lock it in any position which right now you can't. As it is you end up with flash right above the camera shoe. Why have bracket at all then? I am now looking for a new arm to remote the flash better. Battery charger and batteries work well. Length of life of batteries is good in flash unit. If you use flash continuously for several shots it will slow down a little and give weaker output.
