This is a really great accessory and I'm glad it is available for the Flashpoint series. When you want to have really great almost shadowless details and soft looking skin, use this!

Used this beauty ring in a photo shoot with one foam core board as a hair light type reflector and one small gold reflector as a fill light and the results were excellent. I set the camera with a meter reading and got the reading I needed. I used the beauty ring on a Flashpoint II 620 set at about a 45 degree angle and at 1/4 power at about a meter away and about a foot over and aiming down on the subject. Couldn't ask for a better result. I got the results I wanted. I may get another one and coat it with white duct tape and see if it softens the light anymore. As it is the beauty ring gave me great color replication although I was about a half stop off on the exposure. Not a hard fix. This works great, is build fairly sturdy, snaps on in an instant so the set up is easy and take down to change to a soft box or umbrella is no problem. Good value for the money.

Good unit for using a 3/2 flash ratio.

I would recommend the sock be used with the dish for best results.

Its not that bad, but its not really that good either. The light isn't as diffuse as it should be for a beauty dish. I really wish it had an inner white coating rather than the brushed aluminum. I would love to find a sock to fit it. But, you can't beat the price-point. I mean, a beauty dish [$]- whodathunkit?
