Comments about Photoflex Photoflex Snoot for the Starflash Monobloc, with Insert Grids & Filters:
I attached it to my Starflash 300 with no problem and started using it. As time went by, I smelled something hot, and just attributed that smell to the also new Starflash unit. Later I discovered why. The snoot was on, but at a strange angle. When I took it off, the top square attach "knob" fell off. It had been melted and burned by the attach rivet, and the other 2 were about to melt thru. Further investigation revealed that the snoot had fallen enough that it had rested on the modeling bulb (lamp), intensifying the heat, and cracked the bulb. I had used the modeling light feature of the unit, and I believe that was the reason it had melted.
I have repaired mine by replacing the little gray plastic blocks with nylon spacers (from hardware store) and new rivets.
So far, so good. I like the product, and find it useful. In the future, I will be aware of that potential for disaster (fire). I suggest you either use the modeling lamp as little as possible, or make the same repair I just described.
