Comments about Professor Kobre Professor Kobre's Lightscoop, Warm Version Bounce Flash Device, Universal model, fits over the Pop-up Flash of most SLR Cameras (American Photo Editor's Choice 2008):

The Lightscoop performs exactly as described. If you follow the directions, you'll get the results that are advertised. I've seen posts about this product that indicate it's difficult to use because it must be used in manual mode. For me, the tradeoff of using manual mode vs. results obtained is very well worth it.

tried it with 14 ft ceilings, no good. tried it with eight foot ceilings (standard height, white ceiling) did not make a difference. actually looked darker than without the scoop. I am really disappointed in this product. I have wanted it for about a year and it finally went on sale so I bought it. Now I wish I didn't.

This product is amazing! I just recieved it today and I couldn't believe how great it worked. It was SUPER easy to set up and shoot! The images that I took were really sharp and they looked like something I took in my studio. It gave vibrant colors and evened out the light. I recommend this to everyone who is on a budget because this is a great price for something that works just as good as those flashes that are hundreds of dollars.

I used this little device over my pop up flash. What a difference! I got both of them and I'm glad I did.

Comments about Professor Kobre Professor Kobre's Lightscoop, Warm Version Bounce Flash Device, Universal model, fits over the Pop-up Flash of most SLR Cameras (American Photo Editor's Choice 2008):

pop-up flash can be harmful to young eyes. This unit by being placed in front of the flash deflects the strobe up in close shots and not towards the eyes. Even "older eyes" appreciate the deflected flash. The photos are even and warm as advertised.

When the party moves inside I slip on my Lightscoop. Indoor photography has always been a drag because of my camera's pop up flash. It makes my DSLR images no better than my point and shoot. Bad Flash is bad flash no matter how expensive the camera. The Lightscoop is perfect inside -- it uses the white ceiling to create FLATTERING light from my camera's built in pop-up flash unit. I have always hated the red eye and the shiny faces but this thing also fixes the harsh shadows and generally brightens the whole scene. EASY to use. Cheap GOOD fix to really ugly pop-up flash photography. Check out my Halloween pics. It's subtle but notice how the light is coming from above instead of shining in their faces like a scary flash light. Yuck!

Comments about Professor Kobre Professor Kobre's Lightscoop, Warm Version Bounce Flash Device, Universal model, fits over the Pop-up Flash of most SLR Cameras (American Photo Editor's Choice 2008):

I was very excited when Lightscoop.com announced that their product was compatible with the Olympus Evolt Line of DSLRs. I was quick to purchase the combo kit and could not wait to try it. I am very unpleased with this product. Images were darker and looked worse than with the harsh light from the pop up flash, even with all settings exactly like they recommend. I guess that my fault for taking a shortcut instead of getting a real flash unit.

I bought a pair, one with a regular mirror and one with the gold mirror. Most of the time I use the standard version, but I love the portraits I've taken with the gold mirror. This was a much cheaper solution than buying a flash unit. Plus, I'm still learning to use the camera, and learning to use a flash AND spending yet more money was overwhelming. I'm so glad I found this gadget.
