Comments about Westcott Westcott Illuminator Arm For Reflectors:

This works a treat to lock your reflectors in place while shooting in the studio or on location with a small studio style setup. I have used a competitor's product before ( I think it was a Manfrotto) and was not impressed with the build quality. I was a little hesitant at first but I have a Halo and 30" reflector from Wescott and I'm happy with the quality. This is no exception and I would always consider the brand when it comes to future products.

Comments about Westcott Westcott Illuminator Arm For Reflectors:

Sturdy strong arm will give great support to your reflector and hold it tight. Depending on the light stand and reflector size you use it with you may need a sand bag or some kind of weight to keep the stand stable.

Nice Arm and Stand with Exceptions

Comments about Westcott Westcott Illuminator Arm For Reflectors:

Stand and arm are of reasonably good quality but the clips that hold the reflector are a little flimsy. Also, the stand will fall over if you try to use it with larger reflectors without sandbagging the base. Forget about using it outdoors. I knew that going in and use it for studio work only. I put a couple 5lb dumbell weights over the center shaft at the base of the stand and that works well. I wanted a lightweight setup that I could move quickly for portrait setups to reflect and block light and this outfit works OK for me. Westcott needs to address the flimsy clips though. Maybe some screw-down units would work better. Swivel works OK but watch over-tightening as one review said. Bottom line: for light use this will be fine with some weight at the base.

Comments about Westcott Westcott Illuminator Arm For Reflectors:

I use this in conjuction with the Monte Illuminator as a fill source with a main light for my portrait sessions. If you work alone, as I do, it's wonderful for a fill that doesn't move once placed.

Comments about Westcott Westcott Illuminator Arm For Reflectors:

Although the materials and craftsmanship is good the design of the friction control handle in the dual ball pivot area is lacking. I broke the friction control handle the first and second time I used this product. [...]. I have replaced the plastic handle with a metal wing nut and tightened the pretension nut and bolt. I now have a reflector holder that works very well and at a great price. The holder works well with many different sized reflectors and acts as a one handhold grip when on location without an assistant or stand.
