This collapsible umbrella is not silver but grey. It's reflectance power is very poor. It doesn't correspond to your add. I never use it. My money was wasted !
Learned about this umbrella through the strobist blog site and purchased it after seeing so many fastastic examples of one light images.
Adoroma was the only place who had inventory on hand, I was a bit concerned that it was on both sides and not black on the outside like the ones pictured on B&H or the strobist site so I had to verify the product number before ordering.
The umbrella was everything that I expected and worked wonderfully, very easy to set up, set down, folds neatly and very easily, and the light is perfect, not as soft as a white, but knowing how to use it is up to you.
Very good umbrella except that now [...] now puts their logo on the product so they can get free advertisement.
It's cheap, so don't expect the build quality to be spectacular. It works exactly as I expected.
This model is great if you need a large circular gray card, but it simply isn't reflective enough to be useful. When using an umbrella with a portable strobe, you need all the light you can get, and this does not provide nearly enough. If it weren't so cheap I would send mine back.
Very nicely difused light shot through or bounced. Use this on group shots or portrait indoor to get near perfect light with very soft shadow. I'm ordering another one for backup as well as for Really Large wedding group shots.
