This Sigma lens and all others are GARBAGE. The company HQ based in LI knows this and overcharges for repairs (they charged me $1500 to repair this lens when I took it to the beach- I declined and am now in the process of litigation). [...]WARNING STAY AWAY FROM ALL SIGMA PRODUCTS************DONT SAY I DIDNT WARN YOU.

Comments about Sigma Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 EX DG APO IF HSM AutoFocus Telephoto Zoom Lens for Nikon AF-D Cameras:
This lens is the favorite among the paparazzi in Hollywood. I just bought one from Adorama, March 27 and am extremely happy with my copy. I look forward to using it for my work as a celebrity photographer here in L.A. All I need is one good set of pix (of a celebrity) and this lens will have already paid for itself. I love this lens more than my Canon 70-200 f/2.8 non-IS.

I shoot lacrosse and hockey, and there just isn't anything else in this length and aperture available. Several returns to Sigma to address focus issues but I'm very satisfied now with it on my D300. Recommend lens ... plus physical training for hand-holding.

It's heavy, but worth the weight. Best lense for the money. Fast focus and sharp

This is an awesome lens. The more I use it the more impressed I am with the image quality. There is no loss of image quality when using the 1.4TC. The lens is long and heavy so be prepared to mount it on a sturdy tripod.
