Only one time have I even seen the old purple fringing, it handles it extremely well. It's sharp at f/2.8 through f/14. Macro images are awesome w/ 1.6x factor. Great portrait photos. I use it w/ Canon 30d and have the Eos 17-85 as walk around. When I need a shot to get accepted at microstock, I can count on this lens every time. Good bokeh, good color rendition. Front heavy. Even works pretty darn good as telephoto.

Using w/my Canon 350D. I also have Canon's EF-s 17-85mm IS USM and EF 70-300 IS USM but the Sigma yields better images than either of these and is on my camera almost all the time. Sharp as a tack.
