This lens stays in the bag no matter what I leave out, when I'm not using my 35mm SLR my Digital SLR's 1.5x lens factor gives it a 36 - 105mm zoom, great for when you're on the road and can't take a lot of your lenses.
You'll want Sigma's UV Filter for protection and Sigma's Polarizing Filter to shoot through water and glass, they're not cheap but they're good and they fit my other 2 Sigma Lenses(20mm f:1.8 and 100-300mm f:4.0) or many others with a step up ring (you don't want to use a step down ring)
