This is actually the second of this model I have had. The first fried the internal plastic focusing mechanism and was too costly to replair. That makes this lens a disposable imho. You ceratainly can't do better for the money but if you have the money you can do much better. It has a very difficult time focusing at the extreme high zoom and the manual focus ring is not calibrated accurately. So a full setting of infinity results in a blurry photo every time! The bottom line is that until I find more cash this lens will have to do and I have in fact gotten some nice shots with it. Just not as many as I would have liked.

While it's not the absolute best for its focal lengths, it has to be the best in its price range. I have a kit lens and two high-quality primes as well, but nearly all of the shots I've had printed were taken by this beauty.
It should be noted that I still haven't figured out what difference the Macro switch makes... but I don't mind.
