Comments about Sigma Sigma 85mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM Lens for Nikon AF Cameras:

This a GREAT lens if you've been wanting the Nikon but can't afford it!

A bit soft wide open, but super sharp by f/2!

Built extremely well with good weight to it.

Takes a little longer to lock in focus than I would like, but acceptable considering it's half the price!

Comments about Sigma Sigma 85mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM Lens for Nikon AF Cameras:

Great lens. Pairs well with D700 and Sigma 50mm 1.4. I thought about the Nikon 85g, but was turned off by the high price. This lens out does the 85d and is hard to tell the difference between this and the G lens. Unless you have money to throw away or have to have Nikon, this lens is a must have.

Comments about Sigma Sigma 85mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM Lens for Nikon AF Cameras:

As [@] said : "We rarely publish uncompromising opinions in our summaries but here it would be difficult not to include one. Providing you own a Nikon or Sony reflex camera I personally don't see any reason why you should buy any brand-name 1.4/85 lenses. The Sigma is cheaper, better and it comes with a longer guarantee – as simple as that. You must be really very infatuated with "Zeiss" or "Nikkor" magical words to prefer their lenses to the Sigma."

Comments about Sigma Sigma 85mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM Lens for Nikon AF Cameras:

I am still getting used to the extreme narrow DOF associated with 1.8 but I have been getting mixed results with my in-focus images. When this lens hits it - wow it is sharp. Wih this narrow DOF you really need to re-position your focus point and not just center focus and re-compose. I will continue to evaluate this lens because it just maybe operator error on my part. Also, I have been evaluating it while attached to my new D7000 as well - so it's 2 new devices at once.

Comments about Sigma Sigma 85mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM Lens for Nikon AF Cameras:

This lens was truly surprising!

I chose this lens over the Nikon because of the price, and I'm sooo glad I did! It's built extremely well (a bit heavier than I expected), it's incredibly sharp, and produces AMAZING bokeh!

The auto-focus isn't as silent as the Nikon, but isn't loud enough to bother me.

Overall it's TOTALLY worth the money, especially since it's half the price of the Nikon!!!

Comments about Sigma Sigma 85mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM Lens for Nikon AF Cameras:

Wonderful Sigma lens that costs HALF of the Nikon alternative. After reading every review of this lens online, I could not think of a single reason not to buy it over Nikon's.
Some people complain about Sigma's quality control...but I've never had an issue. I also have Sigma's 50 1.4 and the 10-20 and absolutely love their lenses.

I could not be more pleased with this lens.
