The great things about this item:
it is the perfect size for a good sized lens on your camera(example:a 70-200) and folds up small and easy
not too heavy and will not take up too much space or add too much weight to your camera bag
what is really awesome is that it takes no work or time to set up
perfect for landscape photographers taking photos in places where a tripod just won't work and this item will steady your camera and protect it at the same time for sharp images. There are just times when a tripod is not an option and just takes too long to set up.

I bought a small one for my wife's point & shoot and a large one for my DSLR. Each is easy to pack and supports the camera well. I wouldn't try panoramas with them, but they're great on short day hikes.

Set up a long zoom on the top of a car, works OK. It seems heavier than necessary - I have another beanbag product that is lightweight.
It just barely competes in function with a small, lightweight pocket tripod, but it's quicker to use.
I could use either - perhaps the Cam-Pod is steadier - hard to know.
