I use this when I am guiding out west for big game. I use it for a steady hold on my spotting scope and video camera. It is a must buy for anybody that video's or uses a spotting scope. This product is awesome for treestand use also for that close look or the begining video crew!!
If you dont have one buy one use it once and you wont leave home without it on your adventures!

there isn't much choice out there, or at least not below the $200 line. I found it to work great, I wouldn't mind if they put some shoe mounts on it.

Comments about Stedi-Stock Stedi-Stock Shoulder Brace Stabilizer for Cameras, Camcorders & Spotting Scopes:

Actually tried this one before investing in a more expensive model to see if I liked it. I used it on a Nikon D300 with a Sigma 50-500 lens, which is close to 10 pounds. It really helped stabilize the combination at an air show. I would recommend it as a trial before sinking several hundred dollars into a Bushhawk.

Comments about Stedi-Stock Stedi-Stock Shoulder Brace Stabilizer for Cameras, Camcorders & Spotting Scopes:

Yes this works because camera is braced against your body away from your face. This enables one to see peripherally other action so you can pan to slowly. Be aware, however, that this tool's design may make law enforcement, guards and security personnel suspicious of your set-up (your equipment may look like an automatic gun weapon).

Comments about Stedi-Stock Stedi-Stock Shoulder Brace Stabilizer for Cameras, Camcorders & Spotting Scopes:

The Stedi-Stock can be slightly confining in tightly enclosed areas. May be difficult to do private investigations work with the Stedi_Stock.

Otherwise, it is a great and simple tool for steadying a camera.

Comments about Stedi-Stock Stedi-Stock Shoulder Brace Stabilizer for Cameras, Camcorders & Spotting Scopes:

The Steadi- Stock is a great value overall and a economical problem solver. A poor mans Steady Cam in a pinch. I would like to see improvements in the plastic handle, that is make it stiffer and the strap hoops should be turned 180* so that they are wide to face the strap the same way for better stability when draped over the shoulder. The front portion that has three holes for the handles bolt to slip thru could be made thicker also so that it too adds stiffness to the front end and continue thru its entire structure for increased rigidity. I have installed a nylon wing nut to keep the handle connected to the Steady Stock when no camera is mounted to it and have drilled a hole with a 1/4" nylon bolt secured with a nylon nut on the bottom slope of the shoulder stock facing downward to store the wingnut when I mount a camera to the unit. That way the handle stays with the Steady Stock when no camera is on it. Or maybe clip ons can be made on the units side to store the handle inline for better transport and storage and mobility, etc. An over the shoulder brace model could be helpful and perhaps even carbon fiber versions for super light weight, strength and stiffness. Overall as is, the Steadi- Stock is still an excellent value.

Comments about Stedi-Stock Stedi-Stock Shoulder Brace Stabilizer for Cameras, Camcorders & Spotting Scopes:

Instead of lugging around my pro-tripod this came in handy when using my Fuji S 7000 since it does not have built in stabilization. Recommended for quick access and setup as well as being lightweight.

This product is extremely light weight, fits both my camcorder and spotting scope, and is really easy to carry with the strap or in my fanny pack. Did great filming my Niece's Soccer games. And i enjoy not having to carry a tripod around any more.
