I have only had my Gitzo Monopod for a short while, but it seems to be very well constructed and I believe it will fit the bill for my needs. I will use it in photographing sports events and wildlife.

Very well balanced and constructed monopod. Serves as an alternative walking staff. The extra price is definitely justified with the solid construction and smooth operation and should last beyond my years. The leg opens very easily and locks in solid. I really can't think of any way to improve on it.

Very happy with this product - quick and easy mechanism, light but strong. Only one complaint - you need to check the tightness of the rubber foot regularly as it is prone to uncrew and get lost when swivelling the monopod...
