Certainly less cumbersome that my regular tripod but it needs a telescoping shaft to reduce it to a shorter closed length.

Overall engineering seems pretty good, sections move smoothly, lock seem to be secure, the finish is really nice, BUT...
Velcro strap to hold the legs closed?
Sunpak makes some pretty good stuff.
Let me know when the engineers come back from lunch and get serious.
