If you have a RC-2 tripod and more than one camera, you know what this is for & why you'd need it.

Have the release on all tripods and monopods and keep the plate on all cameras and long lenses for quick connect and release . Great when you need a quick action shot while shooting from a tripod - just a quick flip and the camera is ready to go .

We use this with 3 cameras & 2 people. It allows us to share a monopod & tripod. One plate on each camera & using 2 types of heads which share the ability to use this plate. All cameras are very secure, easy & fast to mount. Have used them on vacations, family weddings, parties flower shows & animal parks with good success. I like Bogen gear, it's not the cheapest, but is the best I have found in 50+ years of photography.

Terrific mounting plate. Goes on easily, but holds firmly. Best of all, the retractable handle on the screw means you don't have to search for a screwdriver or coin to put it on the lens or camera. Great product.

This is a must have item for anyone using the Bogen RC2 system. I use two cameras and various combinations of tripods and monopods and this plate save me valuable minutes when trying to capture the perfect shot.

I purchased these a couple years ago to use for quick change of binoculars and a small spotting telescope on a bogen tripod and quick change head. They work as advertised and give a nice stable mounting. My only complaint would be that the handle used to turn the screw is quite difficult to manipulate. Space is limited so it may be the best solution but it makes the attachment process slow. The good thing is that with several plates you only need to attach them once to each instrument.
A small piece, but solid as a rock!

Im a serious amature and take my photography really serious,..I own a tripod and monopod ( both Bogen series ) this are what make a curcial difference in regards to full control of my composition of my images.
The Bogen Rapid Plates, though such a small piece but plays a crucial role in the game!
The rubber plate really holds my camera body in place,..have but some cheaper versions, but the heat eventually melted the adheisive causequently allowing the camera to slide from position,...the Bogen rapid mount has never let me down inregards to this issue.

This product meets all expectations. The 1/4 inch thread sits in the middle of a strong but forgiving rubber pad that ensures a snug fit and won't get loose.
