Utilize this head for a Slik Sprint Mini and a Gorillapod. Top feature is the quick detach mount so all of my cameras can be fitted with the mounting base and snapped on for quick shots with a DSLR or my Canon Video camera. Quick to adjust and lock in place. Great design.

I have recently moved from a disposable "Quantaray" tripod to a Hakuba Carbon Fiber with a Magnesium head. The head that came with the Hakuba was solidly built, but was a pain to adjust.

Enter the Slik AF2100. I was intrigued by the pistol grip and was ready to throw the original Hakuba out the window.

The head feels very solidly made. There is no creep, even with a relatively heavy and unbalanced zoom lens. I have done 60" exposures with very good results.

I have never seen or used a tripod head that was this easy to adjust. After you get used to it, it is second nature to grab the handle and point. Just watch where your other hand is. I was holding the top of the tripod (where the head mounts), and I managed to pinch the skin between thumb and other fingers. No broken skin, but plenty of cursing and burst capillaries.

It is hard, if not impossible to shoot straight up, because the grip gets in the way.

The SLIK has provided me with the range of motion I needed while on the tripod. Quick, easy removal of camera when needing to handhold the shot. Rapid repositioning of the camera on the tripod. Other than the fact it is a bit heavy, I can find no fault with it. Unit rotates almost 360 degrees and can point straight downwards for that overhead macro shot. Any angle in between is there for the taking.

Recently purchased a SLIK of my own and darned glad I did. It makes repositioning of the camera on the tripod a simple maneuver. The quick disconnect makes going off tripod a breeze. Taking those overhead closeups is simple with the cutout in the base which allows 90 degree tilt downward of the camera. The trigger grip makes it so effortless that you can concentrate on the subject and not camera positioning with knobs and clamps. Great product. If only it weighed half as much...but then it probably wouldn't have the ruggedness I so enjoy.

Super range of movement and instantaneous clamping makes the Slik a real pleasure to use. The quick release platforms have a neat lock, so that one's camera/lens are never in danger of crashing to the ground.
