Pros:
Engraved angle scales, Good size grips, Improves Tripod Function, Includes bubble level, Pivots on three axes, Sturdy
Cons:
Pregreased -watch out
Best Uses:
Best flexibility in setup, Long Exposures, Photography, Portraits
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
A nice multi-axis head. Attaches to the tripod with Manfrotto's locking system - secure and solid. Knobs are rubber covered - nice feel to them. Pregreased so watch your clothes when you first put it together (2 of the knobs ship in plastic holding bracket). The grease can get on your fingers real easy. Save the plastic bracket to put the adjustment knobs in when you stow the tripod with the head on it. Otherwise the knobs stick out every which way and may not fit some cases.
Good All-In-One Traveller

I was looking for a lightweight head with full panning that I could use for still and video and pack in my suitcase with my 190CXpro4 tripod (11 lbs limit) for light travel. This is perfect and very reasonably priced. I have had no issues with it so far and actually like the layout and function of the knobs. Great all-purpose light to medium duty head.

Pros:
Fits Well, Improves Tripod Function
Cons:
Sticky tilt control
Best Uses:
Long Exposures, Photography, Stabilization
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Have been using this pan/tilt head for several months now and overall find it to be a great device. However, there are times that getting that precise control eludes this head. The tilt control is very sticky and therefore makes fine tuning the position sometimes very difficult. The pan function is smooth and allows 360 degree operation. When tilting I have also noticed that there is some sag unless I really crank down on the lock.
Excellent with one small limitation

I like everything about this head - it moves well, gives me control over all three dimensions, and does exactly what I wanted. Except that I can not tilt as far back as I'd like - trying to take a shot of the moon, I had to shorten the back legs on my tripod to be able to point high enough. From this one perspective, my ball head is better.

For the price you can't beat this product. It holds my Canon 1Ds Mark II and a 70-200 L series lens with no trouble. I also have the pistol grip but it can't handle the weight.

Good BUT tight w/ 5D and 80-200 lens

Cons:
Not w Canon 5D and 80-20
Best Uses:
Long Exposures, Photography, Portraits, Stabilization

When using with my Canon 5D and 80-200 lens, the mount is too close to the grip. The camera must be in vertical position just to mount the lens into the head. I know my hand is going to hurt after I rotate too much too fast. I can't fit a finger between them. I wish I had known this.

Bought this head in conjunction with the Bogen/Manfrotto 055X ProB tripod. Great combination. Very stable. Holds camera, battery pack and flash with no movement. Adjustments are exact and the leveling bubbles are really helpful. Get this one for medium duty work and you won't be disappointed.

This is a very solid and stable head - a perfect match for my Manfrotto 190XPROB tripod. The large ergonomic controls are easy to adjust without fumbling for them. The built in level (along with the level on my 190XPROB) makes it easy to get perfect 360 degree panoramic sequences for stitching together in software. The 2-stage latch on the quick-release protects your equipment from accidental release. The quick release plate itself is made of metal (yes, I've had plastic ones break on me). This is a very nice head and I would recommend it to all landscape/nature and portrait photographers.

Nice head. works smoothly. Only thing I would change is the quick connect plate ( it is different than the ones on the heavier models.) as I also use a Bogen Monopod ( It uses the heavier octogon plate

This Bogen-Manfrotto 804RC2 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head with Quick Release is my is my livesaver.
It is designed to go with a Bogen-Manfrotto tripod, but will work with over brands. I use it with a 3021BPRO Bogen-Manfrotto tripod. It is good any photography.
It has a built in spirit level, quick release plate system, it is a bit heavy, and big. It is about 5 inches tall. If has no bag, but you should already have an equipment bag. It comes with easy to read instructions.
I'M GLAD I PAID A LITTLE MORE FOR THIS..

Being 6'4" I needed a tripod/head combo that easily reach that high. I'm glad I got the 804RC2 + the manfrotto 190 CL, it sure is nice to shoot without back pain. A definate recommendation for tall photographers.

I use it for my portrait work. It has great range and holds its position very well. Bogen users can rely on the quality to be par (in a good way).
