Purchased in hopes of a reasonably-durable tripod I could take backpacking without weighing down my pack or punishing my wallet. For [$], I'm very pleased thus far. Unexpectedly, it fits perfectly on the back of my Lowepro Slingshot 100.I haven't tested it with anything beyond 135mm...so I can't be sure how it will support your larger telephoto lenses. But if you're a casual photographer or mild photo enthusiast like myself, this is great entry-level lens that won't break your wallet

I bike a lot and wanted a tripod that was not a burden to carry around. This fitted my profile to the bill. I have a canon rebel xti. and this holds the rebel plus a 100-300mm lens with ease. have used it for a week now and am pleased with it.
Cons: the central ridge is made of plastic. It was my mistake that I was slightly rough on it and the plastic broke. tht is the one weakness of the tripod. the plastic parts are not very durable.

I've taken this tripod everywhere over the past 3 years, and I wouldn't be without it. On a recent trip to Iran it got a lot of use in low-light so I could use long exposures without resorting to flash. A lot of other people on the trip admired it. I like that that it sets up and takes down in seconds, yet has all the bells and whistles found on a lot of the higher-end "professional" models, and fits easily in a daypack or through a gear loop.
I have no complaints, other than it would be nice if it had a little spirit level on it so you could see when you're gear was level, but for the price that might be unreasonable!
