I just received it today. I am already in love with it. I am using a Nikon D300 with an 18-200 mm VR lens and the ball head holds the camera like a rock in both vertical and horizontal positions. The one lever system makes it very quick and easy to switch from horizontal to vertical in seconds. It also allows me to reposition the camera to switch from full length wedding shots to up close face shots in seconds. It is very simple to learn how to use and would work well in a wide variety of situations for small and medium sized DSLR's. The only weakness in the tripod is the center column is raised and lowered by releasing the center column lock and manually pulling or pushing on it. This is my first Manfrotto purchase and I will definitely buy more from them in the future.

Before buying this product I looked at quite a few higher priced carbon-fiber options and then decided to buy this leg/head package, based primarily on price and reputation. As it turn out, this was a great decision.

While it is a little heavier than the carbon-fiber option, it is still easily portable and the build quality is amazing. It is hard to believe that a product of this quality is available at this price. Don't even think twice - buy this package. You won't get a better value for the money.

I love this tripod. I originally wanted to get a Carbon Fiber tripod and I was comparing them to this one and I noticed that they weren't that much lighter or even shorter(when collapsed) then this one. I decided to get this one an I have never regretted it. Buy this tripod because it is a good deal. Save your money for more glass!!!

Very sturdy tripod, 2-section legs make fast setup possible. Multiple angles of tripod legs + the low-angle mount adapter would be very useful for special needs. The included ball head is also well constructed, quick release plate is very handy.
I'm very happy with this tripod, will take it out to storm chasing and vacation for sure.
