I just bought this tripod and tested it out. I thought it might be a bit chintzy for my Nikon D60 since the packaging says its for a digicam but the ball head holds up quite well and stable. I love the compact size and plan on taking this on vacay to Costa Rica.

Got this the other day... as usual, awesome customer service and advice, and rapid shipping.
This tripod is truly stable with my rig, a Nikon D-80 with battery grip, and either the 11-18 or 18-135. The carry case that it came with was actually really well made.
This tripod is a great deal, with a silky smooth ball head, an truly meticulous craftsmanship. I'd totally recommend this to a friend.
Good quality at a good price.
This tripod is not constucted heavy enough to use as a step stool to reach the top shelf in the pantry, but for someone who wants to go on day hike or even backpacking and use it as a stable platform for a spotting scope or medium sized camera, it is perfect. It extends tall enough to view without stooping, it is light in weight and the ball head locks securely. Just what I was after.
Is not the most stable tripod, but it is not the most expensive either. For long exposures it is best when camera is set on timer and hand is removed from camera before picture is taken. That said, it is a pretty good tripod. I recommend it and would buy it again.
A well made, sturdy tripod. The ball-head is smooth and easy to use. Center column is reversible. Works very well for me. Capacity is 7.7lb...haven't tried it with anything longer than 200MM lens.

I take pictures all the time, but am a novice as far as skill. This tripod has already made a world of difference in my photos - and it's easy to take along so I always have it with me.
