I bought this for my boyfriend. It meets his expectation, since he takes lots of pictures on vacations. It is small and packs easily. Great product.

This works very well with my Canon A570 IS. It does **NOT** work very well with heavier cameras (e.g., my G9 or S3 IS or the G10 another reviewer mentioned). The specs clearly say that the weight limit is 300g/10.6 oz. The G10 weighs 350g/12.3 oz--without the battery. With the battery, it would be another 1.5 oz or so, about 13.8 oz/390g. Go to the Joby website, which has a page where you can find the right Gorillapod for your camera. The G10, like my G9 and S3 IS, needs the Gorillapod SLR.
The only thing that takes this Gorillapod (and others--I also have the SLR and SLR Zoom) down from 5 stars is that it is awkward to use, in part because of the flexibility and because it's often difficult to move it just where you want it. Balance can be an issue, as well, especially if the camera is near the upper limit of the Gorillapod.
One other note: be VERY leery of knockoffs/copies of the Gorillapod. They may not work very well. I tried to save some money by getting a knockoff of the SLR Zoom, but it collapsed under a much lighter load than the SLR Zoom was supposed to hold. I bit the bullet and bought a "real" SLR Zoom, which works quite well. So, get the REAL thing. (Adorama is a very good source!)

Bought this for my Bike commute to work. Its ok but you can't really use the legs to wrap around fences and such as it wobbles for a long time (with my G-10 attached) But if you squish it down and use it like a tripod it's pretty decent. So I can't reccomend it because I think you'd be better off using a stiff little tripod for 30 bucks.

I bought this Gorillapod mainly for my point and shoot, but it worked so well for my small digital recorder during a music service because it did not stick out like a sore thumb. It is so very sturdy. Nothing shaky about it. Plan on using it with my point and shoot during fireworks display. It fits almost anywhere in my camera cases. I can even use it when I take some self portraits!!! I already knew that it wouldn't support my DSLR so no disappointment there. A great little item. Haven't wrapped it around a limb yet, but I will!
