Comments about Sunpak Sunpak 3300 PRO Tripod with 3-Way Pant Tilt Head & Quick Release, Extends to 64.4", Supports 11 lbs, Tritanium Alloy - Silver Finish:

The tripod is quite stable (I do not know about windy conditions). The vertical tilt handle comes screwed into the base of the pan and tilt handle. You cannot keep the vertical tilt from accidentally falling onto its 90 degree axis if you do not have the tilt handle screwed in. If you leave the tilt handle in you cannot put the tripod into a carrying case. If you take the tilt handle out, you lose quick set up. The quick release plate has a D-ring which makes for quickly attaching your camera to the plate. Because the center post is not two-piece, when adjusting the tripod for low level shooting, you may not be able to get as low as you would like to. On this particular tripod one of the lower legs (the leg with the Sunpak name) will not extend without applying a lot of muscle to pull it down. On occasion you have to check the tripod to make sure that the angle adjustment latch has not come loose. For the safety of your camera the documentation warns that you should not carry the tripod, with camera attached, cradled in your arm.

I have used this tripod for many things: from sunsets at the beach to moonrises in the mountains. It certainly does the job for me without the high cost.
