the tripod would be ok light duty, if the pan head was steady and rotated without flopping, I don't know why they made that part incorrectly

When I got this tripod I really loved the design. It is light, sets up fast, is intuitively easy to use. Plus a bargain at its current price. Unfortunately, the metal screw & socket is made of inferior quality steel, and I stripped the adjustment screw after 3 days of use. Adorama graciously agreed to refund my money and I will pay more money for a better quality tripod.

Other things I liked about this mono-tripod:

1. I loved the combo monopod-tripod design. The centerleg pulls out of the tripod, and becomes a monopod on its own. Note that if you pull all of the leg elements out it is a little unstable, but if you dont pull it out to its full 60" length, it is steady enough.

2. I liked the quick release bindings that were made of plastic. The plastic parts were very sturdy. It's just the steel inserts and steel screws that stripped very fast.

3. The price was quite reasonable.

4. I would buy a Sunpack Tripod again, especially if they have a more ruggedly constructed one made of better materials.
